A Runner's Guide
to ITBS and Illiotibial
Band Treatment for Cyclists
As
a competitive athlete, Ann Schofield recognizes the mental
and physical challenges that an injured athlete faces.
Supporting an athlete in fulfilling their goals by expediting
their return to training or competition is her number one
priority.
Equally
important to Ann is that the patient leaves with a greater
understanding of their individual
muscle imbalances and weaknesses. By fully evaluating an
athlete's dynamic stability and unique movement patterns,
she is able to implement a thorough and specific corrective
program. Ann strongly encourages her patients to have a
clear working knowledge of their injury; her treatments
include education on relevant anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.
Ann believes that when a patient takes an active role in
their recovery, results are greatly improved.
Ultimately, Ann believes that by working on an individual's
mechanics and stability with movement, that efficiency will
be maximized. In turn, performance is enhanced, while injuries
are minimized due to the removal of unwanted dysfunctional
movement patterns. She enjoys working with motivated individuals
at all levels of activity.
Education and Experience
Ann is a licensed Physical Therapist who received her degree in 1987 from the
Oswestry and North Staffordshire School of Physiotherapy in England. Ann has
